Our surgical lighting solutions offer high quality operating room LEDs (Light Emitting Diode). In fact, the LUVIS L200, L400 surgical light heads contain 96 LEDs per light head that put off some serious light. The “M” Series operating room lights have 54 LEDs that put off 120,000 LUX intensity. But bright light is not the only name of the game when it comes to surgical lighting. Light that only has brightness will lack true color. Therefore, LUVIS uses a high CRI technology that display a more natural color. LUVIS also offers optional 3 selectable steps of color temperature. We fill a lot of questions regarding the color temperature of a surgical light and how using the color setting might best impact the procedure. The highest of the three color settings is the closest to white and the lowest is has more yellow and orange tones. Our orthopedic surgeons utilize the highest color temperature which represents the closest to bone. The lowest color temperature setting on our surgical lights can be best utilized by plastic surgeons. The low color setting of 3800k for example would be best utilized by a surgeon that deals with skin and tissue.
An LED is an optoelectronic device which works on the principle of electro-luminance. Electro-luminance is the property of the material to convert electrical energy into light energy and later it radiates this light energy. In the same way, the semiconductor in LED emits light under the influence of electric field. LEDs in surgical lights provide a cooler operating room and less heat on the surgical site.
